Environmental Control
In addition, HRS Spiratube has developed the systems shown below for environmental applications.
Systems for concentration using Mechanical Vapor Recompression (vapor recompression system) and Systems for Multiple Effect Evaporation have been developed for the treatment of Industrial residues.
Principle characteristics:
The Systems for Concentration using Mechanical Vapor Recompression incorporate the Unicus® dynamic scraped surface heat exchanger as an evaporator which, when coupled with the mechanical recompression of vapor gives the following advantages:
- The Unicus® dynamic scraped surface heat exchanger guarantees the absence of fouling within the evaporator which allows it to work for as long as necessary without stopping.
- The Unicus® dynamic scraped surface heat exchanger allows high levels of concentration.
- The mechanical recompression of vapor is the key to energy saving.
Applications:
- Concentration of waste water and sludge’s by evaporation of the water or other volatile liquid components.
- Recovery of costly solvents or contaminants from sludge’s by condensation.
- Crystallization by means of evaporation and concentration.
- Dehydration of organic residues.
- Treatment of slurries of animal waste.
- Drying.
The Multiple Effect Evaporation Systems also include the Unicus® dynamic scraped surface heat exchangers, which are the ideal partner for the concentration processes of waste products when associated with electrical cogeneration, which produce useful quantities of hot water or exhaust gases from which valuable energy can be recovered. The advantages are:
- Absence of fouling.
- Long operating times.
- High levels of heat transfer.
Applications:
- Especially suited for processing critical residues such as residual water from chemical and petrochemical plants which are difficult to treat in other ways.
