Plate scraped surface heat exchanger: Cooker - Cooler
The development of the T-Sensation® plate scraped surface heat exchanger and cooker-cooler is perhaps the most exciting advancement in heat transfer technology to date. HRS developed and patented this new type of heat exchanger to meet the challenges experienced by the food and industrial companies for new products.
Efficient and effective
The T-Sensation® is the most efficient heat exchanger and reactor available in the market today for special applications. The high ratio of scraped surface heat exchanger area per volume of product* allows it to cook and cool food products in a minimum amount of time reducing the impact of temperature on the product.
The T-Sensation® is a series of smooth plate heat exchangers where the product is in contact to the outer plates. Each plate is fitted with scraping elements. The controlled rotary movement of the scrapers continuously moves and mixes the product with minimum shear stress and protecting the particulates. The scraper blades also clean the plate walls and prevent fouling.
The T-Sensation® allows for both gentle and more aggressive product handling depending on the rotor RPM.
T-Sensation® can work vertically (only as a heat exchanger) or horizontally when using it as a cooker / cooler depending on the application and customer needs.

T-Sensation design
The T-Sensation® is manufactured from SS 316L for all the product contact surfaces. The standard models are available in 10, 80, and 250 gallons working capacities with heat transfer areas available up to 146 sq. ft. in the same vessel. The standard working pressure for the process side is 30 PSI and for the service side is up to 120 PSI.
T-Sensation® can work under pressure, full vacuum or at atmospheric pressure.
T-Sensations® can be designed and manufactured to a number of standards including ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1, and PED, as well as for aseptic conditions.

Heat Exchanger series
T Sensation® works as a heat exchanger in a horizontal or vertical position. The product enters the cylinder through the lower connection and flows upwards to the outlet connection on the top. The service media flows through the center of the hollow shaft reaching the smooth plates. The rotating scraper blades continuously remove product from the plates and mix the product to enhance the heat transfer co-efficient. The rotor speed can have variable speed to accommodate the properties of the product flowing through the heat exchanger. A variety of configurations can be customized depending on your particular needs.
Cooker—cooler series
T-Sensation® works as a cooker - cooler in horizontal position. Our equipment is designed to work with difficult products where conventional equipment does not work well. The T-Sensation® cooks with indirect steam inside the smooth plates with at least 4 times more heat transfer area than any kettle. The rotary scraping blades keep the plates clean and mix the product to obtain constant heat transfer. As a cooler, it can use chilled water or glycol circulating through the plates.
T-Sensation® allows the user to fry products and to cook final recipes in the same unit in the minimum amount of time, as well as cooling the final product before sending it to the filler, developing natural flavor and eliminating the usage of enhanced flavors.
Pilot test and catering series
T-Sensation® is a flexible unit, it allows the user to develop new products in a Research and Development center or work for a large catering company. The T-S 40, a 10 gallon unit, gives the flexibility to prepare any recipe available in the market that is being made with any other brand of cooker-cooler or heat exchanger. From simple sauces to very complex formulations, the T-Sensation® is an affordable solution for the food industry.
